December to April is dry season: sunny, windy afternoons from the Papagayo winds, glassy mornings. Marlin peak. May to November is green season: lush, afternoon rain, calmer seas and the best sailfish, tuna and dorado fishing of the year. September and October are the quietest months in town, so you get the water and the crews largely to yourself.
